Young artists from across the country are close to having their brush with fame as the next designers of limited edition Heinz® Ketchup packets. Pop artist Burton Morris and a panel of judges have narrowed the field to 36 finalists out of 30,000 entries in the Heinz Ketchup CreativityTM Contest. Connecticut Art School in South Windsor is excited and proud to announce that 5 of the 36 finalists are students from their school. Finalists include: 4th graders - Lia Guerette from Ellington and Eliza Browning from Tolland, 5th graders - Natalie Paliulis and Kasey Lucia from South Windsor and 6th grader Rani Viroja also from South Windsor. |

Statewide - Volunteers and staff from Connecticut United Ways joined more than 1,000 others from across the nation last week to improve lives by influencing national policy that affects communities in Connecticut. Mobilized by United Way Worldwide, advocates from local United Ways visited Capitol Hill and met with their congressional delegates on March 18 to advance the common good by advocating for issues related to education, financial stability and health of families and individuals in Connecticut. |

The year 2010 marks the 90th anniversary of the 19th Amendment and the League of Women Voters. Sally Matson’s performance weaves together a story filled wit and humor, fiery speeches, humorous letters and revealing diary entries. The Underground Railroad, Civil War, 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments, her arrest and trial and trips out West are all featured in this educational, historic and entertaining presentation.
