South Windsor, CT -- The third annual Greater Hartford Women's Conference (GHWC) will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Maneeley's Banquet and Conference Center in South Windsor. Presented by the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce and the GHWC Executive Committee, the day will feature former Good Morning America co-anchor Joan Lunden, author and humorist Gina Barreca, and Kara Sundlun, co-host of WFSB's Better Connecticut and co-anchor of Eyewitness News at Noon.
Early registration is $129 for the day's events, which include two panel discussions, guest speakers, workshops, breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and exhibitors. After March 31, registration is $149. HOW TO DO BUSINESS WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, STATE AGENCIES & LOCAL MUNICIPALITIES
A series of workshops at NO CHARGE will be offered for established small businesses whose business strategies include growth with the federal, state and municipal markets. You will learn of opportunities available to small businesses including resources and programs available, marketing tips, how to find available bids, how to decipher the difference between state and federal set-aside programs, how to develop proposals, networking with large companies, and how to successfully approach a larger company. Focus will also be given to navigating through State of Connecticut's bid portal, understanding the Supplier Diversity Program (SBE), the DBE Program, State and Federal certifications and registrations, along with an overview of the various pre-qualification process.
Workshops are held on a Friday of each month 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at Manchester Community College. Classes will be held in Room AST C211.
