The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk
proudly celebrated Earth Day 2008 on April 22nd, 2008 by doing their part to reduce,
reuse, and recycle. Through the efforts
of our shops and restaurants, Evergreen Walk promoted awareness of global
warming and the importance of acting as caretakers of our environment. Many of the stores asked customers to forego
a shopping bag for the day, dimming their lights to conserve energy, and
handwriting receipts. Stores that were involved:
Banana Republic, Bellini's Italian Eatery, Highland Park
Market, L.L.Bean, Pottery Barn, Starbucks Coffee, and Ultra

Uptown
Consignment Supports South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank. Uptown Consignment, located at 1735 Ellington Road, South
Windsor held a food drive for the South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank on
March 25th. Over 500 non-perishable food items were
collected. Barbara Capenera, owner of Uptown Consignment, presented
a check for $100.00 from the sales of the event. Anyone bringing in
a food donation received 20% off one item in the store and The
South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank received 10% of all
sales. The event was hosted by The South Windsor Chamber of

On April 19, 2008
Dzen Realty, Inc. conducted a "Fill the
Bug with Love" food drivein front of Highland Park Market at
Evergreen Walk to support the South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank. Thanks to the
generosity of the local community and Highland Park Market, Dzen Realty's
Beetle Bug was overflowing with non-perishable food items and cash donations.
