Twelve community members were elected to serve as Corporators at Eastern Connecticut Health Network's annual meeting held on Nov. 15. As a nonprofit health system, ECHN is governed by community residents who volunteer to serve on its Board of Trustees and as Corporators. In addition to the newly elected Corporators, six ECHN Trustees were re-elected for another term of three years, and 30 Corporators were re-elected to an additional six-year term.
ECHN EMPLOYEES DONATE TOYS TO CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
The holidays will be a little merrier for local foster children with a donation by employees of the Eastern Connecticut Health Network of over 400 toys and gift certificates to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF). Because a large number of foster children are teen-agers, many gift certificates from local stores were purchased by ECHN employees to ensure that older children received a gift that is meaningful and suitable to their age. Younger children receive gifts of toys and games.
The gift donation was made to officials of the DCF at a ceremony at Manchester Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, December 6, presided over by Peter Karl, President and Chief Executive Officer of ECHN.
