Windsor Steel Corporation was founded by Robert J. Fogler and Joseph Walsh in 1972 as a distributor of tool and specialty steel. With distinguished careers in the steel industry, they combined forces to provide “cut to length” and one and two day delivery to end users in Connecticut and Massachusetts. In 1986 Robert J. Fogler became the sole owner of Windsor Steel. He brought his son Andrew M. Fogler and daughter Joanne Patenaude into the business while adding carbon and alloy steel to their product line. They are now co-owners and have a staff of 18 people including Meredith Betts and James Mann, grandchildren of Robert J. Fogler who sadly passed in 2000. Individual orders are filled to our customers’ specifications through the combined professional efforts of our inside sales staff and warehouse personnel. Our primary customer base is located in the Northeast, ranging from one-man shops to multi-million dollars corporations. Technology has contributed to our nation and world-wide expansion. Our outside sales staff further services our customers and rounds out our sales team, with over 80 years of combined experience. We currently operate five trucks that deliver within an 80 miles radius of the warehouse, and customer pick-ups, UPS, or common carriers make up the balance of shipments. Operating eight saws – two vertical, four horizontal and two plate saws – we can accommodate most any steel requirement.
