Should I join the Chamber if I'm opening a business?
You should absolutely join the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce if your’re opening a local business. With weekly networking events and a foundation of successful business leaders, you gain access to one of the most comprehensive business resources possible.
Does my business need to be in South Windsor?
Many businesses are members of different associations which benefit their bottom line. If you do any business with the people in South Windsor, you should be a member of the South Windsor Chamber of Commerce, no matter where you’re headquartered.
How often do I need to attend events?
Participation is key to making the most from your investment into the Chamber. While you do not need to attend any specific number of events, you’ll find the time spent is extremely valuable, whether your attend our after-hours events, morning coffee events, or any of the other larger events we hold throughout the year.
Is my Chamber Membership Tax Deductible?
Yes and no. Contributions to the Chamber are not tax deductible as a charitable donation for federal tax purposes; however, they may be deducted as a business expense!
Do members offer discounts to other members?
We have long list of members offering discounts for their services to other members. We recommend you offer a discount for your services, and that you get familiar with what members offer so you can save.
About Our Events

The Chamber offers a variety of community based events in addition to our members events. Throughout the year we sponsor the Greater Hartford Women’s Conference, an annual golf tournament, ribbon cutting celebrations for new businesses, a restaurant exposition, a local job fair and much more. On a monthly basis we have after hours networking events, and AM coffee and breakfast meetings.

The Chamber has proven to be a valuable commodity for my business and me personally. My grandfather, Ed Havens, helped found the South Windsor Chamber 50 years ago, and it’s helped grow our business into what it is today. From his encouragement, I’ve joined the Board and learned how to capitalize on the resources the Chamber offers to continue to grow our business into the 21st century.
I joined the SW Chamber of Commerce in 1983 and I’ve had the privilege of severing on several committees and on the Board of Directors. Like any volunteer organization you get out of it what you put into it. I would recommend to any business in our community to join and participate in the chambers activities.
