Your business is the host of this event. Make it yours! The Chamber is here to help you. However, we encourage you to take some of the following suggestions into consideration.

  • Give a quote for a press release, or write your own
  • Complete the Chamber’s Ribbon Cutting form
  • If you have promotional materials created, send it to the Chamber
  • Share on social media
  • Invite clients, employees, friends, and family
  • Order banners and signage, if you choose

When should I begin talking to the Chamber of my event?

Begin the converstation as early as you can. This allow the Chamber confirm the date, add it to the caledar, and share it with members. Whenever possible, businesses are encouraged to schedule ribbon cuttings between three and six weeks in advance

When is the best time to have a Ribbon Cutting?

Ribbon Cuttings are best on weekdays between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. 

Who cuts the ribbon?

The owners, managers, or top excutives most frequently do the honors, but each business is different and can pick whomever they like to cut the ribbon and say a few words about the business.

is there a fee for ribbon cuttings

Non-members of the South Windsor Chamber are subject to a $250 fee for hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony, whereas membership includes this ceremony along with extensive business opportunities such as marketing, networking, resources, visibility, credibility, and more. How long do ribbon cuttings last?

We typically plan for one hour to 45 minutes including guest arrival and the ceremony. The official ceremony tends to last 15-20 minutes and typically starts 15 to 30 minutes after guests arrive.
